INTERIOR MINISTER COMMENDS GNFS

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Prosper Douglas Bani has commended the Command of the Ghana National Fire Service for raising the image of the Service. The Minister made the commendation on Friday at the maiden Happy Hour of the Fire Service for its Officers and Men, held at the Fire Academy and Training School at James-Town in Accra. Hon. Bani was full of praise for the Transformational Leadership of the Service under the leadership of Dr.

WESTERN REGION GETS MORE FIRE STATIONS

Two New Fire Stations have been commissioned in the Western Region to bring fire and rescue services closer to the people. The two Fire Stations located at Elembele and Ampain Districts, form part of the expansion policy off the Fire Service to ensure that all Districts in the country are provided with Fire Stations in order to improve the emergency response time of the Service during emergencies to ensure effective and efficient operations.

RECRUIT MORE SPORTS MEN

The Minister for the Interior Honourable Mark Owen Woyongo charged the Ghana National Fire Service to set the pace among other security services in recruiting more sports men and women.

GNFS TRAINS MORE FIRE FIGHTERS

The Gomoa West District of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has initiated a month-long programme,  to train fire volunteer squads to help combat bush fires during the coming dry season.

The training will also cover the prevention and fighting of domestic fire outbreaks.

GNFS LAUNCHES 2015/2016 BUSHFIRE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

The 2015/16 Bushfire Prevention Campaign was launched on Thursday, 17th December, 2015 at Agona Nyakrom a farming community in the Central Region under the theme “SUSTAINING THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH BUSHFIRE PREVENTION”.
