Sixty (60) Fire Officers selected across the Country have commenced a week’s Senior Officers Leadership Course at the Fire Academy and Training School, James Town - Accra

The training programme which includes District Fire Commanders and selected key Officers is intended to upgrade their knowledge and skills in modern best practices in relation to effective and efficient fire management.

This forms part of the Chief Fire Officer’s strategic policy to transform the Ghana National Fire Service into a world class firefighting institution.


During the period of training, participants are expected to undergo courses in Role and Responsibility of Senior Officers, Incident Command, Contingency Planning, Media Relations and Public Speaking, Validation Procedure among others.


Resource persons for the training programme include some Retired and Serving Superior officers, who are expected to impart their knowledge and practical experience in fire management.

 Addressing the Officers at the opening ceremony, the Ag. Chief Fire Officer Edwin Ekow Blankson urged participants to take the training programme seriously and imbibe continues research and learning in order to keep up with international standards in fire management.
